1 Covid-19 death in 24 hours, current positivity rate 4.15%

One person died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today (August 22, 2022), said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,321 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 196 new coronavirus cases were recorded during this period.

The daily positivity rate is 4.15 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.65 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,10,944, the release added.

A total of 4,721 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 278 Covid-19 patients have recovered within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,55,084 and the recovery rate at 97.22 percent, said the release.

The deceased was a man aged between 51-60 years old, added the release.
