2 Covid-19 deaths reported in 24 hours

Two persons died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today (August 27, 2022), said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,323 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 156 new coronavirus cases were recorded during this period.

The daily positivity rate is 4.26 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.65 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,11,100, the release added.

A total of 3,663 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 180 Covid-19 patients have recovered within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,55,264 and the recovery rate at 97.22 percent, said the release.

Both deceased were males aged between 61-80 years old, added the release.
