One dies of dengue, 251 hospitalised in 24 hours

One dengue patient died while 251 patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in 24 hours till 8:00am today (August 31, 2022).

With the new death in Dhaka, the total number of deaths from dengue this year rose to 21.

Of the deceased, 11 are from Cox's Bazar alone, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the 251 new cases, the total number of dengue patients this year rose to 6,181, DGHS also said. Among the patients, 784 are still undergoing treatment, including 109 outside the capital.

A total of 5,376 patients have been released from hospitals, DGHS added.
