Diagnostic centre in Ctg fined for using expired reagents

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) fined a diagnostic centre in Chattogram today (September 4, 2022) for using expired reagents with medical tests.
Anisur Rahman, assistant director of the DNCRP Chattogram divisional office, confirmed the development to our Chattogram staff correspondent.
"We have fined Tk1 lakh to Metro Diagnostic Centre -- located in Golpahar area of the port city for using expired reagents," the assistant director said.
Besides, the DNCRP team fined Tk 20,000 to Landsteiner Blood Bank & Transfusion Medicine Centre for not having a date on the blood bag, he said.
During the drive, DNCRP also fined Hotel Sufia Tk 12,000 for preparing and serving food in unclean and unhygienic conditions, Anisur said.
All accused organisations have immediately paid the fine, which was submitted to the government treasury.
